Hi. I’m Alisa, daughter of Ron Zichterman, CEO of QT Magnetic Solutions. It’s not as if I know nothing about magnets. I’ve grown up around magnets! I’ve had “fun” marking unmagnetized pieces of metal with noxious paint pens after dinner. I spent summers magnetizing small parts, building small assemblies with industrial strength adhesives, QA testing electro magnetic strength of 1 billion coils with alligator clips and a custom designed force measurement scale. I emerged fairly unscathed - there was an incident with some cardboard and a paper cutter…

Fast forward to 2026 and I’m back in the land of magnets, this time trying to understand how best to get the existence and expertise of QT Magnetic Solutions into the hands of inventors, industrial and mechanical engineers, procurement officers, and the like. Here’s how the conversation with Ron has been going so far:
Alisa: Do we have a consolidated list of products QT has contributed to? Can we build some case studies around that to show how awesome we are?
Ron: I’ll noodle up a list of both products and companies. We have a patent for large dipole assemblies used for vacuum annealing of HD read/write heads.
Alisa: What’s a dipole? What’s vacuum annealing? What’s HD read/write heads? (this one I should know as a long time software engineer…)
And thus the birth of this series. Hopefully this series will provide education, entertainment, and a glimpse into the complex world of magnet assemblies.
This series is just the start of my deep dive into the world of magnets. If your own project is ready to move from a whiteboard concept to a high-performance production line, we’re ready to partner with you. Get in touch with QT Magnetic Solutions here.
